A pooled FBS lot is dialysed by tangential flow filtration at 10000 MWCO against a 0.15M NaCl solution until the glucose concentration is under 5 mg/dl. The product is then 0.1 micron sterile filtered and aseptically dispensed. The process is designed to reduce the concentraions of small molecules such as amino acids, hormones and cytokines.
